Episode 252: The Pain of Being In Between

I’ll bet you’re pretty good at starting over.
And are even pretty good at setting goals.
You know where you want to go.
You know what you want to be different.
And you look ahead.

You see your end goal in sight.
You get excited.
You plot your steps and start taking them.

All is good so far.
But at a certain point, you reach that middle point.
The in between.
The point between your starting point and your goal point.
And it feels awful.

 And this middle point, this point that is in-between where you start and where you want to finish… it’s a danger zone.
This is where you and most others generally quit.

In Between

It’s new, it’s hard, it’s uncomfortable.
And no one likes being there.
How do you currently get out of the discomfort of the middle?
Typically, you give up. You quit.

But getting to the middle and giving up won’t get you where you want to go.
It will give you momentary relief from the discomfort of doing a new thing.
And then you will be right back at the starting gate.
