Are you a planner, or do you live and eat spontaneously?
Most of us identify as one or the other.
You might think that you simply don’t have the personality to be a planner, and if it doesn’t come naturally to you, that you weren’t meant to do it.
But I want to talk to you today, and yes, I want to convince you, that planning ahead for yourself is the way to help you change, to help you keep your promises to yourself, and to help you eat differently.
When you make decisions in the moment, 99% of the time, they will be decisions to do the same things you have always done. And this certainly includes how you eat.
When you pre-think a situation, you are giving your brain a plan. You are telling yourself: when this happens, I want to do ____.
So if you are trying to eat differently, and stick to a plan, you need to think through what it will feel like in the moment and how you will handle it.
If planning ahead makes so much sense and helps you get what you really want, why aren’t you doing it?
It might be that you just think it’s too hard.
Or that it’s boring to plan.
Or that if you plan you might miss out on something wonderful.
OR you might be rebelling against being told what to do. Even if you are being told by you! For something you really want!
It is time to step back and see what lack of planning costs you, why it really works and how to do it.
Join me as I coach you about thinking things through ahead of time and how to get yourself to stop rejecting what really works. You can do this, even if you think you’re not a planner.
