Do you rebel when you hear me talk about getting back to basics? I would venture a guess that you might.
This is because it’s natural to always want something new. Something exciting. A new solution to an old problem.
But what if the solution to your long-term problem of overeating and eating when you’re stressed was right in front of you?
You’d have to give up the search to see the direction you should be facing.
Everything I know comes down to three things that you need to learn to make your eating problems things of the past:
- Eat
- Think
- Love
These three basics are what make up how you show up in your life, and sometimes they are working and balanced, and often, they aren’t.
Without learning how to eat like a natural eater, or learning to manage your mind, and of course, learning how to take great care of yourself, you will flounder.
And if you’re an emotional eater, floundering for you will show up as extra pounds on your body. Believe it or not, when you overeat, not only are you practicing a habit you don’t really want, but you are trying to take care of yourself. You are trying to do your best.
But, it’s not working.
Here is where I want you to go back to the basics, the foundational skills that will help you be the best you that you can be.
So, you can take all that energy that you use lamenting your weight, your eating habits and your body… and use that energy to go into the world and do amazing things.
