Episode 236: Acting As If For Weight Loss
I know you probably won’t believe me here.
You probably think that solving your weight and eating issues must be a long, drawn-out, 10-year process.
That it just can’t be anything close to simple.
But what if I told you that you could wake up tomorrow and pretend to be the woman you wished you were?
And, that it would work?
Acting ‘as if’ you were already where you want to be is one of the ways you get your brain to change.
You wake up in the morning and pretend that you are following a script.
Let’s call the script: A day in the life of a natural eater.
Sounds unbelievable, right?
Here’s the thing.
Your struggle, which feels very real, is ALL created by your thinking.
So, if one day, we give you a script to read, and act on.
And this script gave you the thoughts and feelings and actions of a natural-eating-woman, you’d be amazed.
Because pretending that this was you, would give you a glimpse into the world of that woman, that woman that you so dearly want to be.
And that glimpse could be the start for you.
Of course, there will be more work to do.
But for now, it will help you imagine what is possible, and right now, you can’t see that.
You are stuck in looking at your past to predict your future.
So, for now, let’s just pretend. Join me and try this experiment and let me know how you do.
