This used to happen to me all the time.
I was trying to lose weight and not struggle with food.
So I’d read the latest book and have a major ‘aha’ moment.
I’d get some big insight and get really, really excited.
This is it!
I can see exactly what the solution is and why I’ve been struggling!
I now know what to do and starting tomorrow, my problem will be gone.
I’d go to bed excited and confident that I finally figured out what to do.
I couldn’t wait to wake up the next day and get started.
Boy, was I ever surprised to find that the next day was just another repeat of all the other days.
Make a plan.
Try to eat in a new way.
Fail, give up, and beat myself up.
I was so disappointed.
I really thought this was it.
I had the insight.
I had the understanding.
So why couldn’t I change?
