Self-Management 101

Self-ManagementCommon wisdom says that how you do one thing is how you do everything.

I know, when I honestly look at my life, that this is true for me.

I also am able to see this phenomenon in most of my clients.

But, when you’re in the midst of the hustle and bustle of your life, it’s sometimes hard to see.

Why do some things work, and others fall apart?

How do we get ourselves to follow up in certain areas, and in others it’s as if we go into dreamland and forget our objectives completely?

Take a look at your own life and I’ll show you what I mean.

Is your life progressing and proceeding the way you’d like it to?

  • Your job?
  • Your relationships?
  • Your body?
  • Your health?
  • Your day to day inner climate?

If not, maybe it’s time to step back for some perspective.

What do you most want to happen?

And what are you willing to do to help it happen?

I propose that it’s time to start treating your life the same way you’d treat a business that you really wanted to succeed.

That is, by taking inventory, creating strategies, and finding ways to implement these strategies.

If this sounds like a boring business plan, I can assure you it’s not! Because this is the business of Y.O.U…

So many of us aren’t happy with one or more aspects of our life.

So, we hope.

We cross our fingers.

We pray and practice Law of Attraction.

All of these things are valuable.

But we also need to get off our butts and start taking this life seriously… and managing ourselves.

Life is all about self-management.

Taking charge.

Creating outcome.

And monitoring what direction you’re heading in.

So you end up where you want to be.

It’s not about beating yourself when you get results that aren’t what you’d hoped for.

It’s about constantly checking your course and making tiny, tiny adjustments.

Step back.

Take charge of your self-management.

You are in the business of your life. And your life will end up exactly where you are directing it.

Whether you’re aware of doing it or not.

Better to know.

To decide.

Instead of living by default.
